The Quiraing at Dusk print is the result of an exclusive Òr collaboration with artist Hannah Farthing.
This original multi-block linocut depicts a view of the Quiraing, an ancient landslip in the north-east of Skye, at dusk. The print was created by printing five layers of hand-carved linocut blocks with carefully custom mixed inks to evoke the sense of wonder you feel when gazing out over the awe-inspiring landscapes of Skye.
Òr discovered Hannah's work shortly after she completed her MA in Illustration at the Edinburgh College of Art in 2021. Originally from Suffolk Hannah through time spent in Scotland developed a deep rooted connection to its landscape describing it as 'my greatest source of inspiration'
From the initial sketches of the idea, to carving of the block of lino, mixing the ink colour, aligning the paper and turning the press; everything about Hannahs work is beautifully considered.
Due to the hand made nature of the print, it may vary slightly on colour and have slight imperfections. This adds to the individuality and uniqueness of each print.
