Scottish Spalted Beech Cutting Board

These solid wood chopping boards are hand-crafted on Skye by talented sixteen-year-old Eòghainn who uses Scottish spalted beech sourced from Fife. 

Every piece of timber comes from responsibly managed, fully traceable Scottish woodlands and is kiln-dried with care and skill before reaching his workshop. When designing each board, Eòghainn draws the piece out first before cutting, shaping and sanding entirely by hand. 

Eòghainn lives here on Skye with his family and has been making chopping boards and lathe-turned bowls for the past three years, learning his skills from his dad who passed on both his tools and love for the craft. 

Each board is finished and preserved using British Food Safety Standard Mineral Oil.
