Transporting you to balmy days by the ocean shore, our shell plates are all handmade by the exceptionally talented Wales-based ceramicist Ella Bua-In.
Every plate is hand-thrown on the potter's wheel and hand-painted using blue oxide by Ella, so every illustration will differ slightly giving it a unique personality.
Ella taught herself to make ceramics after painting her way through a BA in Fine Art. She now lives in Cardigan, West Wales, with her family and spends her time making new creations in her own studio.
Intended to be tactile and imperfect, each piece tells a story and makes reference to a wide range of sources including Ancient Greek and Roman pottery, folk tales and myths.
Next to the painterly shell on the front of each plate you'll spot the phrase Of The Sea, while the underside has Ella's hand-stamped signature. It's ideal for using as everyday serveware for friends and family, or simply displaying on your kitchen shelf or living room mantel.
Measures approximately 18cm diameter. Dishwasher friendly but hand washing is recommended for longevity. Sold individually.
