Rust Hopsack Scarf

A pure 100% wool scarf handwoven by India Johnson who is part of Orkney Cloth, a group known for bringing together designers and weavers across the Orkney Islands off the north coast of Scotland to create responsibly made knitwear.

Every woven piece is rooted in craftsmanship, design and sustainability, and they produce limited batches of products which are influenced by seasonless slow fashion principles. The hopsack-style weave is rooted in history too, being traditionally used for making sacks to hold hops for beer making. 

This scarf is wide, cosy and wrinkle resistant, the perfect staple for cool weather. To finish, the recognisable Orkney Cloth label is sewn onto the reverse. 

Measures 37cm wide x 210cm long. 

Hand wash with non-biological detergent (ideally wool wash) and dry flat. Cool iron on reverse. Soft woollen yarns are liable to pill to some extent, even when using those of the best quality. To take good care of your scarf, remove any pills using a pilling comb and avoid contact with sharp items or jewellery that may catch or snag.
