This beautiful artwork is a digital reproduction of an original cyanotype by Wee Norrag, a brand founded by Angela Macmillan from Inverness, Scotland. Nature is an endless source of inspiration for Angela, with the dramatic landscapes and wild flora of the Highlands and Islands sparking her creativity.
The print is created using a selection of machair flowers picked from the land that stretches from the sea to Angela's parents-in-law's house on the Isle of Lewis.
Cyanotype is an age-old photographic printing method where images are exposed to sunlight and processed in water to produce striking blue-cyan coloured prints. The technique was developed in the 1800’s and often used for architectural drawings – in fact, this is where the term ‘blueprint’ comes from!
Every artwork is printed onto the highest quality 300gsm textured Fresco Gesso paper for a slightly hammered texture and bright finish.
A5 size. Comes unmounted and unframed.
Packaged in an eco-friendly protective sleeve with a board backing that can be recycled or composted.
