Grasses Cyanotype Print

£14.00

The Grasses Cyanotype Print is a nod to the rugged, wild beauty of the Scottish Highlands.

Cyanotype is an age-old photographic printing method where images are exposed to sunlight and processed in water to produce striking blue-cyan coloured prints. The technique was developed in the 1800’s and often used for architectural drawings – in fact, this is where the term ‘blueprint’ comes from!

This particular artwork is a digital reproduction of an original cyanotype by Wee Norrag, a brand founded by Angela Macmillan from Inverness, Scotland. Nature is an endless source of inspiration for Angela, with the dramatic landscapes and wild flora of the Highlands and Islands sparking her creativity.

Her brand was founded just after the birth of her son in 2012, where Angela would craft during his naptimes. Hence, the Gaelic name 'Wee Norrag' meaning 'wee snooze'.

Every artwork is printed onto the highest quality 300gsm textured Fresco Gesso paper for a slightly hammered texture and bright finish.

A5 size. Comes unmounted and unframed.
Packaged in an eco-friendly protective sleeve with a board backing that can be recycled or composted.
