A delicate handcrafted ring by Skye based jeweller Jen Carter Pearson, who owns and curates Òr. The original cowrie shell was found at the beautiful Coral beach in Claigan on the west of the Island. Each Shell is a casting of this original piece. They are part of a jewellery collection called SHORE exploring Jen’s connection to the Isle of Skye.
Groatie buckie is the Orcadian term for a cowrie, it is said that if you put a groatie buckie in your purse it will never be empty. Finding a groatie is considered to be very lucky in the Islands.
Due to the handcrafted element of these pieces of jewellery they will all differ slightly making them all a little bit unique. Adding to the joy of purchasing hand crafted pieces.
