Night of the Candles Wall Hanging Night of the Candles Wall Hanging

Night of the Candles Wall Hanging

£75.00

An exclusive design for Òr, this wall hanging is part of our exciting collaboration with Pantry Pots and our founder Jen Pearson.

Jen and Veronika, owner of Pantry Pots, worked closely together to create this original design, taking inspiration from Scottish festive traditions. Inspired by Oidhche Choinnle, meaning Night of the Candles in Scottish Gaelic, a tradition associated with Christmas Eve and Hogmanay where candles would be lit in the window as darkness fell to welcome and guide travellers, family and friends during winter nights.

Shopkeepers would also join in on this tradition, sharing Yule candles with the community as a sign of goodwill for the year ahead

Veronika hand-throws every stoneware wall hanging in her London studio then expertly paints the design onto each piece by hand.

Both functional and beautiful, this piece is perfect for displaying as an artwork on your walls. And it comes with a length of red jewel-toned velevet ribbon ready for hanging.

Measures W13 x D17cm. Dust and clean by hand to preserve longevity.

As every piece is handmade, there will be slight variations in form and style which only adds to their unique charm. All are sold individually.
