Scotland By Campervan – Take the open road with David Fleck!

Have you ever imagined the romantic notion of travelling rural Scotland by Campervan?

Well, our friend David Fleck soaks up our unique and magical scenery doing just that, translating it to paper in his unique style. Here at Òr, we’re excited to be able to share a few pages from his storybook with you!

David’s artistic journey started in an unexpected place: designing t-shirts. While studying architecture at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and later at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, he began experimenting with illustration. What started as a sideline quickly grew into a passion, catching the attention of big names like Gap, Tiffany, Scottish Opera, and Penguin!

Now based in Glasgow, when he’s not road-tripping with his wife and wee girl, David creates captivating works of art that reflect his love for storytelling, his keen attention to detail, and his whimsical perspective. His creations blur the line between reality and imagination, inviting viewers into enchanting worlds that feel both immersive and extraordinary.

David’s art is deeply rooted in Scotland. From the mystical landscapes of the Highlands (including Old Man of Storr right here in Skye) to the urban charm of Glasgow, his illustrations capture the essence of the country. At the same time, there’s a playful side to his work that ventures into the imaginative, blending the familiar with the unexpected. It’s Scotland seen through a kaleidoscope of creativity - and let’s be honest, isn’t that how it should always be experienced?

What makes David’s work stand out isn’t just the incredible detail or his ability to make watercolours sing (although, seriously, wow). It’s the sense of discovery. Every piece invites you to look closer, dig deeper, and find a new story hidden in the textures and lines.

Lucky for us, David’s stunning work has found a home at Òr. We’re proud to offer a collection of his prints, each capturing his distinctive style and perspective.
