Handy care Guide for Brass Jewellery

Brass is a beautiful material, and given some TLC, it can last forever. Brass naturally tarnishes in contact with oxygen, so it will need a polish regularly if you wish to keep that golden sheen. Some people love the duller, matt look though, each to their own! Keep your brass accessories looking wonderful, keep them away from water, cleaning products and strong detergents. Spots and droplets will remain unless wiped down and dried immediately.

You can also use a little fresh lemon juice, a teaspoon of baking soda and a scrap of old, soft cloth. Mix the lemon juice and baking soda into a paste and apply in small pea-sized amounts to your brass piece. Wipe off with the cloth and give it a good rub down to bring it up shiny! When you’re not wearing your brass pieces, keep them in a bag or box, where the air can’t get to them!
